The Effect of Rewards and Motivation on Students Achievement
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine The Effect of Rewards and Motivation on Students Achievement in secondary schools in Oruk Anam Local Government Area. Two research questions and hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The population of the study comprising of all the primary school pupils in Oruk Anam totaling 3,340: 290 students were selected to form a sample size through random sampling technique. Students Achievement Score (PAC) was the instrument for the study.
Independent t-test was used as statistical analysis to calculate the responses collected from pupils. The result indicated that teacher rewards and motivation influence students achievement in secondary schools. Finally, it was recommended that teachers should adopt various rewards and motivational strategies so that each students could be motivated to perform creditably in their subjects of study.
