Leadership Styles And Pupils Academic Performance In Primary Schools

ABSTRACT: This study was designed to examine leadership styles and pupils academic performance in primary schools in Oruk Anam Local Government Area.  Three research hypotheses were formulated to guide the study, the population comprises of all the primary schools in Oruk Anam Local Government Area which comprises about 6968 pupils, One hundred and twenty (120) pupils were selected from four primary school to form a sample size through simple random sampling technique.

Survey designed was used for the study. A structured hypothesis contained (10) items were used as a major instrument for the study. Independent t-test was used as a method of data analysis for response from the respondents. Based on the findings, it was revealed that majority styles among primary school pupils. Finally, it was recommended that the government and non-government organization should organize in service course on leadership styles for teachers and head teachers.
