Corporate Communication Lead at a Microfinance Company – Centre for Research in Enterprise and Action in Management (CREM) Nigeria

Centre for Research in Enterprise and Action in Management (CREM) Nigeria – Our client, a Microfinance institution, is recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Corporate Communication Lead

Location: Ejigbo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and daily oversight for all activities in the corporate communication unit, being accountable for all the activities in the unit including the annual performance management and capacity building of staff in the unit;
  • Developing an annual comprehensive communication Strategy that aligns with the organization’s vision and objectives as well as the annual Workplan;
  • Coordinating efforts with stakeholders (across business units, committees and media partners) to ensure adoption and adherence in products, processes and events to the defined communication and brand management outcomes on a continuous basis;
  • Coordinating and overseeing communication efforts from the Chief Executive Officer’s desk, and across various teams to ensure alignment with the message and tone defined by the communication strategy; developing the right communication channels, messaging and collateral that align with the overall strategy on continuous basis
  • Developing frameworks for competitive analysis in the industry, monitoring the media for the organization, competitor and industry related information and determining opportunities for brand differentiation and growth on a quarterly basis.
  • Managing the organization’s reputation and brand image, identifying areas of risk or concern and developing strategies to mitigate risk and ensure the organizations reputation remains positive; developing and executing a unified crisis communication strategy as needed;
  • Overseeing the continuous creation of communication materials and content needed to share and promote the organization’s products, stories, achievements and initiatives with various stakeholders, via the Annual report, bimonthly bulletins and news releases where necessary; providing continuous oversight and quality assurance for website and social media content; coordinating relationships with external designers and agencies as required;
  • Managing relationship with external stakeholders, including funders, partners, beneficiaries, regulators etc, with regards to the use of the organizations brand collateral in any specified collaborative efforts;
  • Liaising with head of departments on assigned day to day operational issues, on behalf of the unit and departments;
  • Providing project support on special projects, as determined by the Head, ESCS and the Chief Executive Officer;

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related role, with at least 7 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft compelling messages.
  • Strong experience in media relations and crisis communication management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, as well as social media management.
  • Experience in sector is preferred but not mandatory.
