The choice was confirmed by a state resident electoral commissioner who talked to our correspondent under the condition of anonymity.

The PUNCH had reported that Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of INEC, and his commissioners were discussing the governorship election behind closed doors. On Wednesday, the meeting got started at 7 o’clock.
