ABSTRACT
This research work analyze the Corrupt Practices in Africa in Soyinka’s the Road and Chris Egherevba’s the Labourer’s Blood. From chapter one to five, the study has shown that corruption is the use of power by government officials for illegitimate private gain. In the same vein, the misuse of government powers for other purposes such as repression of political opponents and general police brutality is considered as political corruption affecting our Nigerian society. The novelists have also shown that most economic political and social problems in under developed societies like Nigeria emanate from our corrupt and selfish leaders who exploit the poor without consideration. Some of these problems include lack of accountability, diversion of public resources to private ownership, different types of discriminations, ethnicity, lack of competence, inefficiency etc.

There are many causes of political corruption such as ineffective political processes, ineffective political financing and poverty. the study also show that the different forms of corruption and disorders and also what other writers have said and done to see that in some way people will see the evil of corrupt practices in African society and it effect and what it can do to the human body, causing it to be both psychologically and socially disordered. The authors also analyze in their novels by bringing out the effects and consequences of corruption and suggesting ways of eradicating the monster of corruption and to make the entire Nigeria society to see to it that corruption is totally and completely wiped out of the country and Africa in general.
